Mount it in the spot that is most convenient to where you will be lounging/working. I have one on the wall in the kitchen and one on an end table in the family room and one in every bedroom.
Our main phone is almost always mounted in the kitchen. We have one that has a base unit w/answering machine in the kitchen & 2 sattelite cordless phones that are in the familyroom & my bedroom – those are only plugged in to keep them charged.
Put it on the hallway table. You’ll have a bit more privacy than the kitchen. Plus there is some mobility with it on a table rather than mounted to a wall…
Put it in the kitchen. Murphy’s law will show that when you are about to eat dinner, someone will call.
